Privacy Policy

How OpenSet handles information when you use this website.

1. About this notice

OpenSet provides data descriptions, initial estimates and listings for potential data licensing. This notice covers the website and its forms. A separate agreement is needed before source datasets are shared or licensed.

2. Information we collect

We collect the descriptions, email addresses, optional business details, proposals, selected plans and support messages you submit. The estimate form accepts descriptions, not source files. Technical data can include IP addresses, request logs, browser information and usage events.

3. Why we use it

We use this information to respond, manage submissions, assess potential matches, operate the service and prevent abuse. Where applicable, processing relies on steps you request toward an agreement, legitimate interests in running and securing the service, legal obligations, or consent.

4. Public and private listings

Requests and offers are private unless you choose to publish them. Published descriptions are visible to visitors and may be copied or indexed. Contact emails and management secrets are not included in public listing records. Changing a listing to private removes it from our public listings, but cannot remove copies held by others.

5. Service providers and notifications

Google Cloud hosts the service and database in the United States. When enabled, TypeSafe AI receives estimate descriptions, and our email provider receives the details needed to send operational alerts to the OpenSet team. Providers may process information in other countries. Do not include customer personal data or confidential source records in descriptions.

Operational email notifications are sent through Resend. For completed estimates, these include the description, request IP address and estimate result, including the estimated price in USD when available.

6. Cookies and analytics

Management cookies let the same browser manage a submission and last up to 90 days. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are used to understand visits and signup activity. Depending on their configuration, they may use cookies and device or usage information. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking management cookies may remove access to your management page.

7. Retention and security

Submissions and support messages are retained for follow-up, operation of the service and applicable recordkeeping needs. Closing a listing does not automatically erase its private record. Completed estimates are retained as private notification records containing the description, request IP address and estimate result. Hosting, AI and email providers have their own processing practices. We keep hashed IP counters to enforce limits. Access controls protect stored data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and questions

Contact OpenSet through the support page to request access, correction or deletion, object to processing, or ask a privacy question. Rights depend on applicable law, and we may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. This page’s date changes when the notice is updated.
